In Voice / Language, edit Start Message and press Save. Changing the assistant’s internal name doesn’t change the greeting.

Simple greeting

Hi, thanks for calling [business name]. I’m the virtual assistant. How can I help?

After-hours greeting

Hi, thanks for calling [business name]. The team isn’t available right now, but I can answer questions or take a message. How can I help?

Turn on Prevent Interruption if you want callers to hear the whole greeting, even if they start talking. It only applies to the greeting.

Good to know

Keep the greeting short. If it’s long and can’t be interrupted, the caller has to wait to speak.

Run one test where you wait for the greeting to finish, and another where you talk before it ends.
